Robin Uthappa Shared A Special Message For CSK Fans Ahead Of IPL 2021

Ahead of the upcoming 14th edition of the Indian Premier League, India’s swashbuckling batsman Robin Uthappa found a new home in the Indian Premier League. The cricketer was traded out from Rajasthan Royals and was bought by Chennai Super Kings in the recently-conducted IPL 2021 auction.

Robin represented Rajasthan Royals in the previous edition of the Indian Premier League, which was held in the UAE. However, after the cricketer failed to live up to the expectation of the team, the franchise decided to part ways with him. The 35-year-old, played all the 12 games for Rajasthan Royals, however, he could only score 196 runs at an average of 16.33 and strike rate of 119.51, where 41 was his highest score.

After becoming a part of the Yellow Army led by none other than Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Robin Uthappa has expressed his excitement about participating in the IPL and playing under MS Dhoni.

Well, recently, Robin shared a video on his official Instagram handle, where he expressed his gratitude towards all the CSK fans for showering love on him. He also talked about his admiration for former Indian captain Dhoni. He said:

“Vanakkam Chennai, epdi irukeenga? (Hello Chennai, how are you?). First of all, I’d like to say thanks to all the CSK fans for the wonderful welcome I’ve received over the last few weeks. This message is a bit long pending, but I’m glad that ‘late aanaalum latest ah pannirken’ (I’m latest even if I’m late- Tamil movie dialogue).

“Thanks so much for all the love and support I’ve received so far. Honestly, it’s bit of a desire come true for me. I had a desire to play with him [MS Dhoni] again and win a tournament once before he retires. So it’s a blessing to get an opportunity to play for CSK,”

He added:

“Not just that, I get to play with a lot of players I grew up with. Ambati Rayudu, Suresh Raina… I’ve been playing with them since Under-17. So I’m very very happy that I’m a part of CSK. I’ll work hard and play well if I get an opportunity. And I’m looking forward to coming there and entertaining all of you.”
