Mithali Raj is one of the greatest cricketers India have ever produced. She is one of the best batters in women cricket history and a great ambassador of the game. Over the years, she has been the poster girl of Indian Women Cricket Team and earned the love and respect of cricket fans, not just in India but around the world.

Recently, Mithali Raj posted a causal picture with her teammates on Twitter, and it became a topic of discussion. Some “custodians of Indian culture” didn’t like her dress and told her to delete the picture.

This has been happening on social media for a very long time now and it is important that ‘real’ fans get together and condemn such behaviour. If this doesn’t stop soon, cricketers and celebrities will restrict themselves and not interact with their fans because there is a limit to which they can absorb negativity.

Mithali’s picture created a big social media storm as most of the fans backed Mithali Raj and gave it back to those who were doing moral policing on Twitter.

Today, India’s batsman Robin Uthappa also stood up against the online trolling and called all those who insulted Mithali Raj as “silly minds”.

Check out Robin Uthappa’s tweet here:

Robin Uthappa wrote: “Mithali Raj being treated badly by some silly minds. It’s disappointing to see our culture stuck in the same rut @M_Raj03 #MithaliRaj“
