An intriguing incident unfolded after the fifth ball of the 14th over delivered by Mohammed Siraj. Kyle Verreynne directed a full-length delivery towards an unguarded area on the off-side, positioned between two fielders.

In a bid to prevent the ball from reaching the boundary, Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja both started chasing it. Rohit successfully reached the ball ahead of Jadeja, subsequently throwing it to the wicketkeeper as the batsmen hustled to secure three runs.

It added an interesting twist to the scene, highlighting the curiosity surrounding Jadeja’s status as one of the fittest and most exceptional fielders in global cricket.

The video of the same has gone viral:

BCCI’s strength and conditioning coach, Ankit Kaliyar, recently disclosed that Rohit Sharma’s fitness level is on par with Virat Kohli. Kaliyar shared that the Indian captain consistently clears fitness tests, commending his remarkable agility and mobility.

During a conversation with TOI, Kaliyar said:

“Rohit Sharma is a fit player. He has good fitness. He looks a bit bulky but he always passes the Yo-Yo test. He is as fit as Virat Kohli. He looks like he is bulky but we have seen him on the field. His agility and mobility is amazing. He is among the fittest cricketers.”

(At the time of writing this article, South Africa is currently trailing by 69 runs.)
