Here's How Rohit Sharma Can Leave Mumbai Indians Before IPL 2024

Leading up to the start of IPL 2024, the spotlight falls on Rohit Sharma, the former captain of the Mumbai Indians. His removal from the captaincy, replaced by Hardik Pandya, stirred dissatisfaction among fans and reportedly Rohit himself. Despite this, Rohit remains a part of the Mumbai Indians roster. However, speculations arise regarding Rohit’s potential departure from the team before IPL 2024 commences. The uncertainty surrounding Rohit’s future with the franchise adds intrigue to the upcoming season.

MI coach Mark Boucher offered his perspective on Rohit’s removal from captaincy, asserting, “I think it was purely a cricketing decision. I do think it is going to bring the best out of Rohit as a person and as a player. Just let him go out and enjoy and score some good runs.”

However, Rohit’s wife, Ritika Sajdeh, expressed her dissatisfaction with Boucher’s statement, suggesting, “So many things wrong with this,” indicating her disagreement with the decision.

The video’s prompt deletion didn’t hide the evident dissatisfaction. With Rohit’s apparent displeasure over MI’s decision, the question arises: Could he potentially switch to another IPL team before IPL 2024? Though unlikely, the possibility remains open.

Can Rohit Sharma Leave Mumbai Indians Before IPL 2024?

After Mumbai Indians removed Rohit Sharma as captain before IPL 2024, speculation arose regarding his future with the team. Rohit could potentially leave through the trading option available to franchises before the tournament starts. This trading window opened right after the IPL 2024 mini-auction and will remain open until a month before the tournament begins. This means teams have until late February to trade players.

While Rohit’s departure is possible, it’s not straightforward. Other franchises must have the financial resources to acquire him, which only a few may possess. Moreover, acquiring Rohit would require releasing another player to make room for him in the squad. Given these factors, it’s uncertain if Rohit will continue with Mumbai Indians beyond this season, especially considering the recent developments.
