While batting in a brisk manner on the cricket field has earned Rohit Sharma lots of accolades, driving at high speeds has got him 3 challans from the traffic police.

The India captain and swashbuckling batsman, Rohit Sharma, has reportedly been fined by the traffic police for driving at speeds of over 200 KPH on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway.

According to a report in Zee News, it has been learned that Rohit Sharma drove from Mumbai to Pune, where India will next play Bangladesh, in his blue Lamborghini. India played their last match in Ahmedabad against Pakistan. From Ahmedabad to his home in Mumbai, Rohit Sharma reportedly took a Pawan Hans helicopter. After spending a couple of days with his family in Mumbai, he then drove to Pune.

On the the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, the speed of Rohit’s car went over 200 KPH which apparently is in violation of the traffic rules.

For driving at high speeds of over 200 KPH speed, Rohit Sharma has been issued 3 challans by traffic police.

He got slammed by the fans for his carelessness in driving at such high speeds – putting his and others’ lives at risk, especially during the time he is leading the country in the home World Cup. It didn’t take long for fans to recall Rishabh Pant’s scary car accident in December last year, in which Pant was lucky to survive.

A source from the Traffic Department said, ‘The Indian captain, right in the middle of the World Cup, driving down on a highway is not advisable at all. He should be traveling in the team bus with a police car escorting it.’

Meanwhile, Indian fans wouldn’t mind him overspeeding on the cricket pitch. He’s already started the World Cup 2023 like a rocket. After being dismissed for a duck in the first match against Australia, the Indian skipper played two thunderous knocks – against Afghanistan (131 runs in 84 balls), and then against Pakistan (86 runs in 63 balls) in front of 130,000 Indian fans in Ahmedabad.
