Rohit Sharma Got Trolled After India’s Defeat In U-19 World Cup Final vs Australia

India senior men’s team captain Rohit Sharma was unnecessarily dragged on social media by a section of fans after the Indian under-19 team lost the under-19 World Cup 2024 final against Australia on Sunday in Benoni.

Another final loss for the Indian cricket team – across ages and genders – against Australia. After Harmranpreet Kaur’s women team’s losses in finals to Australia in the 2020 T20 World Cup and 2022 Commonwealth Games, and Rohit Sharma’s men team’s losses to Australia in the WTC 2023 final and World Cup 2023 final, now it was turn for Uday Saharan’s under-19 side.

Australia thrashed India by 79 runs at Willowmoore Park in Benoni to seal their fifth under-19 men’s World Cup trophy.

Chasing 254, India just never got going. They first lost opener Arshin Kulkarni in the third over and Australia commanded a tight chokehold over the run rate for the next 10 overs, resulting in the wicket of Musheer Khan.

Captain Uday Saharan and Sachin Dhas, the two stars of India’s successful chase in the semi-final against South Africa, got out for single-digit scores and that was effectively the end of India’s challenge.

India were 122/8 and with no hopes of a win, Murugan Abhishek fought back with the bat with his array of boundaries and exuberance felt in his shots. Murugan scored 42 runs and that was the highest score by an Indian batter today.

As Pat Cummins’ team did with Rohit Sharma’s Team India in the World Cup 2023, Australia under-19 side ended India’s unbeaten run in the tournament in the final.

A section of fans, mostly the fans of Virat Kohli, trolled Rohit Sharma on Sunday after Saharan’s side lost the u-19 final.
