After a forgettable show in the T20 World Cup last year, the Indian cricket team has upped their game in the shortest format of the game. The Rohit Sharma led Indian cricket team continued with their dominating performance as they added one more win to its name on Saturday. The Indian side registered a comfortable seven-wicket win over Sri Lanka in the second game of the ongoing 3-match T20I series to take a 2-0 lead.

Meanwhile, current captain Rohit Sharma created a new record on Friday as he became the most successful T20I captain at home venues after the Indian cricket team defeated Sri Lanka in the second T20I match to take a 2-0 unassailable lead in the ongoing three-match series in Dharamshala.

With this Rohit has now registered 16 wins in 17 matches at home venues in the T20I, surpassing England captain Eoin Morgan and New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson. England captain Eoin Morgan and New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson. Apart from these, Rohit has also registered three more victories than Virat Kohli and five more than MS Dhoni, at home.

The Indian side put up a stellar show as they chased down the target of 184 runs in just 17.1 overs. Riding on Shreyas Iyer’s 74 and a blistering 19-ball 47 not out from Ravindra Jadeja and a 26-ball 39 from Sanju Samson, the Indian side chased down the target successfully.

Under his leadership, the Indian cricket team has managed to claim the No.1 spot in the T20I rankings after the 3-0 series sweep over West Indies. Rohit is yet to lose a single game, ever since he has taken the responsibility of T20I captaincy from Virat.
