Rohit Sharma is one of the most destructive batsmen in the history of the game. He has earned the love and respect of cricket fans across the world with his outstanding batting and many of his fans fondly call him ‘Hitman’ for the same.

Recently, Rohit Sharma interacted with his fans and followers on popular social media platform Instagram. In a recently held Instagram Live session hosted by former England captain Kevin Pietersen, Rohit Sharma interacted with his fans and spoke about the role of Sachin Tendulkar in his career.

The swashbuckling Mumbai Indians captain said that his former teammate and the greatest batsman in cricket’s history, Sachin Tendulkar has had on his life right from a very young age. Rohit Sharma said that he grew up watching Sachin Tendulkar and off late, he has learned so many things by reading his book.

“I grew up watching Tendulkar. I learned so many things by reading his book, which inspired me to play at the highest level. The name of the book is ‘The Making of a cricketer’, in that book his journey is mentioned. Through all the hardships he’s gone through, it was never easy for him to reach the level he did,” Rohit Sharma said.

Rohit Sharma also gave credit to Sachin Tendulkar for teaching him how to be grounded, despite achieving success at the international level.

“The most important thing I learned is being humble and at the same time disciplined as well. You tend to slip away but that hasn’t happened with him. That is something that I try and bring into my routine. The sky is the limit and there is no end to anything, ” Rohit Sharma added.
