Rohit Sharma Is Getting Trolled For Dropping Virat Kohli And Scoring A Duck

India captain Rohit Sharma may want to avoid using social media for the night after returning to his hotel room following India’s game against Bangladesh as he was being trolled left, right, and centre on for two reasons.

One, Rohit and Rahul Dravid decided to rest Virat Kohli from this last Super 4 round match of the Asia Cup 2023 vs Bangladesh. Second, and even more chastising one, is that he was dismissed for a duck!

The 20-year-old fast bowler from Sylhet, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, made his ODI debut for Bangladesh in Colombo on Friday against India and was absolutely on fire. He bowled a probing new-ball spell and accounted for the wickets of opener Rohit Sharma and India’s debutant Tilak Varma, who came in at number 3. Tanzim Hasan Sakib had figures of 5-1-11-2 in his new-ball opening spell as Bangladesh were tasked to defend a total of 265.

On the second ball he faced from the young pacer, Rohit Sharma chipped straight to the cover fielder, AnamulĀ  Haque. Bangladesh players erupted in joy while Rohit Sharma had to take the long walk back with dejection on his face.

On social media, fans outraged and trolled the Indian captain. The trolling of Rohit and Dravid had been going on from the moment it was announced at the toss that Virat Kohli was rested for this match.

Having sealed a place in the final already, and with the final slated for Sunday, India decided to rest 5 players – Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Kuldeep Yadav. The exclusion of Kohli today sparked a big debate on social media among the fans, which also led to plenty of criticism and trolling of both Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid.
