However, the qualification hopes of MI are hanging by a thin thread as the outcome of Royal Challengers Bangalore’s last game against GT will decide which team will make it to the playoff.

Cameron Green’s magnificent maiden century (100*) and Rohit Sharma’s half-century helped Mumbai to a comprehensive 8-wicket win over SunRisers Hyderabad. Mumbai chased the target of 201 runs with 12 balls and 8 wickets to spare. Mumbai has accumulated 16 points from 14 matches. But their fate will be decided after RCB’s match.

Later, after the match, Rohit Sharma acknowledged the team’s own shortcomings and emphasized that they have no one to blame but themselves if they are not able to qualify for the playoffs.

Rohit admitted that there were crucial moments in previous games that slipped away from their hands, which eventually put their chances of the playoff in doubt. He also highlighted the matches against Punjab and LSG, where they had opportunities to perform better. He said:

We came the mindset of that, we wanted to win and not worry about what we can’t control. I haven’t spoken to anyone. We’ve got ourselves to blame if we don’t qualify. Last year, we did a big favour for RCB, I hope we get the desired result. We did a lot of things right.”

“We didn’t start well and then won three on the trot. The crucial moments in the game that we lost – there were a lot of moments. The game against Punjab, we could have played well. And the last game against LSG, we had the game in our hands. We can’t look too much into it. Sometimes it just doesn’t come along.”
