The three time winners of the trophy of Indian Premiere League, Mumbai Indians is currently locking their horns with the star studded team, Royal Challengers Bangalore, who is still struggling to win their first trophy.
Today, Mumbai Indians are hosting the match at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. The team has not won a single match in this tournament till now but they seemed to be very much in form today.
Before the match started, Virat Kohli, the skipper of Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and chose to bowl first.
The first innings of the match are already done and the Mumbai Indians have given RCB the target of 213 runs.
The first innings started with the bang, RCB’s ace bowler Umesh Yadav took the first two wickets in the first two balls, dismissing Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan.
Ewin Lewis scored 65 runs in 42 balls with the strike rate of 154, smashing 6 fours and 5 sixes. Krunal Pandya scored 15 runs in 12 balls, including 1 fours and 1 six. Hardik Pandya too was not able to score a great number, he scored 17 runs in 5 balls.
Today, Rohit Sharma gave a stunning performance by making a great comeback into the league. He scored 94 runs in 54 balls with the strike rate of 180. He made the ball reach every corner of the ground by hitting thrilling shots, including 10 fours and 5 sixes.
The complete social media went berserk after the stunning performance by our very own Sharma ji. Here’s how twitteratis reacted:
