Jasprit Bumrah is unarguably one of the best death bowlers in limited overs cricket and India’s finest young find. In such a short span of his career he has earned some great compliments from the cricket fraternity and he with Bhuvneshwar Kumar is making death over bowling be redefined.

Rohit Sharma Names Mumbai Indians’ First Player Who Will Be Retained Next Year

The young gun turned 24 on December 6 and he had love and wishes sneaking in from every direction. Jasprit Bumrah’s performance in the limited overs format has been par excellence and hence he got his maiden test call for the South African tour that would start soon.

Bumrah this year became the second fastest Indian to pick 50 ODI wickets. The amply promising bowler achieved the half century in just 28 games and this tells you why his presence is so indispensable.

Rohit Sharma’s wish decoded

As Bumrah turned 24, coincidentally the IPL governing council too announced the retention policy. The retention policy states that a franchise can retain maximum of 3 capped players.

Bumrah has been playing for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League, the high voltage cricket league. Mumbai Indians is led by the dynamic Indian opener, Rohit Sharma.

Rohit’s Birthday wish to Bumrah was more of a coded conversation yet too obvious to guess. Wishing Bumrah on his 24th Birthday, Rohit Sharma said, “Blue is your colour mate, you know what I mean, have a great day.”

Now this in all probabilities hints at the fact that Mumbai Indians have made up their mind to retain Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah has picked up 40 wickets from 30 T20s he has played for India. The economy rate has been under 7 and hence he is so highly acclaimed as one of the finest masters for death overs.

Bumrah responded quickly

The pacer was quick to reply to Rohit Sharma. Bumrah in his response thanked Rohit Sharma and conveyed that he has contemplated what Rohit meant in that message.

Haha yes I know what you mean? thank you Mr Sharma ?? https://t.co/Q9m6fctjLj
