India’s newly appointed limited-overs captain Rohit Sharma has called his wife Ritika Sajdeh is “No. 1 support system”. While talking to one of India’s most famous cricket historians and journalist Boria Majumdar on his show ‘Backstage with Boria’, Rohit Sharma said that his wife Ritika Sajdeh has always stood by his side like a rock and whatever he has achieved was never possible with her support.

“She is my No.1 support system. No doubt about that. She has stood like a rock for me all these years. Behind me, next to me, in front of me – whatever you want to call it,” Rohit Sharma shared on the show ‘Backstage with Boria.’
“Without her, all this that I am doing was never going to be possible. Because, you have certain responsibilities, you know. And I have a young daughter now. She is completely focussed on making sure that she gets the best of everything,” Rohit Sharma said.
Talking more about their relationship, Rohit said that Ritika makes sure that he keeps all his focus on the game and doesn’t worry about what happening with her. The newly appointed T20I and ODI captain also said that it is because of Ritika’s unconditional support and outstanding handling of herself and their family, that he has been able to stay totally focused on cricket.
“And she is playing a big part in making sure that I don’t have to worry about what’s happening with her. Because she is doing this so well, I can focus at times on what I’m doing. And obviously when I come back home, it’s just about family, getting together, making the most of it,” Rohit Sharma added.
Rohit Sharma’s career has taken a huge turn with his appointment as India’s limited-overs captain. The upcoming tour of South Africa will be Rohit’s first assignment as India’s full-time ODI captain and it is going to start a new era of Indian cricket under his leadership.
