The virus is contagious in nature hence, the BCCI has avoided mass public gathering by delaying IPL 2020. Besides, the Road Safety World Series 2020 has also been cancelled thanks to the COVID-19 threat. Only Pakistan Super League is going on at the moment and that too behind closed doors. Rohit Sharma, who is the most successful captain in IPL history, has shared a video on his Twitter handle today to spread awareness about the virus.
He captioned the video as “Stay safe everyone” and in the 55-seconds long video, he has spoken about how the world has come to a standstill in the last few weeks. Rohit mentioned that the past few days have been very tough for everyone. He further said:
“The only thing we can do to get back to normal is by all of us coming together and how we can do is that being a little smart, little proactive, knowing our surroundings and as and when you are getting any symptoms, informing the nearest medical authorities because we all want kids go to the school, we all want to go to the malls, we all want to watch movies in theaters and I appreciate the efforts of the doctors and the nurses around the world who have put their lives at risk while taking care of the people who have been tested positive.”
Lastly, he said that his heart goes out to the people who lost their family members because of this disease. Rohit signed off by urging everyone to stay smart. You can watch the video here:
