Rohit Sharma Shared The Reason Behind Hitting Monstrous Sixes

No one takedown on Australia better than Rohit Sharma. Irrespective of the venue or format, Rohit Sharma just loves playing against Australia. And the same was reflected once again playing against Australia in the just-concluded three-match ODI series, where the Indian cricket team defeated Australia by 2-1.

Rohit showed his masterclass as he played a match-winning knock against Australia. He scored 119 runs off 128 balls smashing 8 fours and 6 sixes before he was dismissed. On the other hand, Virat Kohli scored 89 runs off 91 balls. This was also his 29th ODI century, which was also his 8th against Australia.

After the match, Rohit Sharma appeared on the latest episode of ‘Chahal TV’, which has become the favorite of his fans because of the way Yuzvendra Chahal puts his participants on the spot. And this time it was the turn of the opening batsman, Rohit Sharma.

In the ‘Chahal TV’, Rohit Sharma talked about how playing against Australia always brings out the best in him. Talking about it, he said:

I always enjoy playing against them. They are a good team and when you play against a good side,  it brings the best out of you automatically. Australia- whether it is home or away- they always perform well. it was important for us to come back after losing the first game.”

Yuzvendra Chahal then asked him about the reason behind him hitting such monstrous sixes. To which Rohit Sharma said:

It’s not about power [yaar]. It’s about technique. I always say six-hitting is not only about power, it’s about timing, our bats are so good. I always think that I have to hit above the rope, not out of the ground, coz you only get six runs, not eight or ten”
