He also emphasised on the importance of having a calm and relaxed atmosphere in the dressing room and how Rahul Dravid’s presence will make it easier for the boys.
“Working with Rahul Bhai [Dravid], it was three-odd games but it was fantastic. We know how he has played his cricket, hard and tough. At the same time, there is a sense of relaxation as well. It’s important to keep the atmosphere on the field light and cheerful. When you do your job on the field which is so demanding, you need to have an atmosphere where you can relax, chill around,” Rohit Sharma told BCCI.TV.
This is also a giveaway in a away that how things were under Ravi Shastri and how they would change under Rahul Dravid’s coaching. Shastri comes across as a more aggressive and in-your-face kind of a character, whereas Rahul Dravid is much more relaxed, calm and stable.
Talking about how Rahul Dravid’s presence in the dressing room can help him improve his game, Rohit Sharma said that he has had many interactions with head coach Dravid about his own game and having his expert advice will be a “fruitful” experience for him individually as well.

“I have had so many interactions in the past about my personal game. It’s good to have him on the board, I think it will be a fruitful one in the future,” Rohit added.
India’s next assignment under Rahul Dravid would be the much-awaited tour of South Africa, in which India will play Tests as well as ODIs. It would be a great opportunity for the newly appointed head coach to work with both the captains and take Indian cricket to greater heights.
