Rohit Sharma Showered Praises On Virat Kohli

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are two of the most talented batsmen around the world. They are the backbone of the Indian batting line-up. Both the cricketers have played key roles in taking the Indian side to another level, over the years.

Recently, Rohit Sharma took over the position of T20i captain, replacing Virat Kohli, and his first outing as a skipper was a blockbuster hit as he led India to a clean sweep win against New Zealand in the recently concluded T20I series.

 

In an interview, recently, Rohit heaped praises at Virat Kohli, who was rested for the 3-T20I series against New Zealand that India won by 3-0.

Speaking to Boria Majumdar, Rohit Sharma hailed Virat Kohli and showered praises at him for his incredible batting record. As per Rohit, the presence of Virat Kohli on-field is very important for the team. He said:

“Quality of Virat Kohli the batsman is always needed, to have an average over 50+ in T20I is crazy, it’s unreal & the experienced & batted India out in difficult situations, he is also a leader. His presence is so important”

 

As mentioned by Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli averages 50+ runs in the shortest format of the game as well. He is the only batter to boast an average of over 50 across all three formats of the game. So far, Virat has amassed 7765 runs in 96 Test games at 51.08. When it comes to ODI, he has piled up 12169 runs at 59.07 and 3227 runs in the T20I at 52.03.

On the other hand, talking about the tally of Rohit Sharma, the new T20I skipper of team India, he averages 46.87 for 3047 runs in 43 Tests. He is the only batsman to score more than one double-century in the ODI format of the game. He has so far scored double-century thrice and has amassed 9205 ODIs runs at 48.96. In the shortest format of the game, Rohit has amassed 3197 runs in 119 T20Is he has played so far.
