Rohit Sharma’s Statement On Prasidh Krishna Shows He Knows How To Back Talent

Indian captain Rohit Sharma hailed Prasidh Krishna for his terrific performance in the second of the ongoing three-match series against West Indies. Rohit Sharma’s statements came after team India registered a stunning win of 44-runs in the d a 44-run win in the ongoing series.

Prasidh Krishna played an instrumental role in to help team India defend 237 and defeat West Indies by 44 runs in the second ODI at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.

Prasidh Krishna led the Indian bowling attack and picked a four-wicket hauland bundled the visitors out for 193 in 46 overs. Later, during the post-match presentation, Rohit Sharma showered praises on Prasidh Krishna and said:

“Obviously winning the series is a good feeling. There were some challenges. The partnership between Rahul and Surya had a lot of maturity. We got to a respectable total in the end. We knew we could fight it out. The entire unit came out and bowled superbly. It is important for these guys to bat under pressure and that is how you will judge their character,”

Earlier, the Indian side posted a total of 237/9 in the allotted fifty overs, riding on the performances of Suryakumar Yadav and KL Rahul, who might have played knocks of 64 and 49. Further, talking about the performances of the Indian batters, Rohit Sharma said:

“We don’t mind losing a few games trying out a few things. Because it is important to look at the long-term goals. We will see what works out well for the team combination. I was a little surprised to see no dew. I have never seen a spell like that in India for a long time now. Prasidh bowled with a lot of pace and kept it going. The others complemented him,

He added: “When you have five bowlers and Deepak being sixth, you always need to keep rotating the bowlers,”

The Indian side will now lock their horns in the dead rubber 3rd ODI match, which is scheduled to take place on February 11th. Both the teams will also face off in a three-match T20I series later this month.
