Yuzvendra Chahal

India’s star bowler Yuzvendra Chahal will go down in the history as India’s first every player to pick 300 wickets in T20 cricket. Chahal pitched a stunning delivery to dismiss England’s talented Harry Brook to register his 300th wicket during the Indian Premier League 2023 game between Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

2022 has been a great year for Yuzvendra as he surpassed Bhuvneshwar Kumar to become India’s leading wicket-taker in the shortest format of the game at the international stage. Chahal, who was once an integral member of Royal Challengers Bangalore, has done amazingly well for his new side Rajasthan Royals.

Chahal joined RR roped in the services of Chahal in the IPL Mega Auction 2022 and ever since then he has been doing wonders for the side.  He was the leading wicket-taker in the IPL last year and he has resume from where he left off last year.

Chahal kicked off this season with a bang as he dismissed Harry Brook to reach the elite milestone. He then picked SRH’s only set-batter in Mayank Agarwal, followed by Adil Rashid.

Chahal is now leading the list of most wickets by Indian bowlers as he sits at the top with 302 wickets to his name in T20 Cricket.

Most T20 Wickets (Indians)

302* – Yuzvendra Chahal
287* – Ravi Ashwin
276 – Piyush Chawla
272 – Amit Mishra
256 – Jasprit Bumrah
256 – Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Talking about the RR vs SRH game, chasing a huge target of 204 runs, SRH was off to a disastrous start. SRH could not just get going in the game as they lost 2 wickets in the first over itself. Later, Mayank Agarwal (27), Harry Brook (13), and Glenn Phillips (8) failed to deliver with the bat as SRH kept losing wickets at regular intervals.

Earlier, riding on the stellar knocks of Sanju Samson (55 off 32), Jos Buttler (54 off 22), and Yashasvi Jasiwal (54 off 37), Rajasthan Royals posted a big total of 203 runs for 5 against SunRisers Hyderabad.

Eventually, Rajasthan Royals won their campaign opener match against SunRisers Hyderabad by 72 runs.
