It has been nine years since team India’s iconic World Cup win of 2011, however, the memories of the iconic event are still afresh in everyone’s minds. Watching our cricketers lift the trophy after 28 years and that too at home was a sight to behold.

Indian legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has always described the iconic win of the 2011 World Cup as the biggest and most emotional moment of his glorious cricketing career.

Recently, Indian bowler Harbhajan Singh, who was also a part of the 2011 World Cup-winning squad opened up about the reaction of legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. In the interview, Harbhajan Singh spoke about how he saw Sachin Tendulkar dance for the first time and celebrated India’s victory without caring about the surroundings. He said:

“That day I saw Sachin Tendulkar dancing for the first time, for the first time he didn’t care about people around him and he was enjoying with everyone which I will always remember,”

Harbhajan Singh also expressed how he slept with the medal on that night and woke up with it on him. He said:

“I remember sleeping with my medal on that night, when I woke up, I had the medal on me and it felt great,”

He added:

“It was something that we dreamed together, it was just coming through and it was an unbelievable feeling. I still get those goosebumps when I think about those moments. Lifting the World Cup was really something special and it was probably the first time I cried in front of everyone. That feeling was overwhelming, I didn’t know how to react,”

Last year in April, Sachin Tendulkar had also opened up about his feelings about winning the World Cup. This is what he said exactly after winning the cup:

“I couldn’t have asked for anything more than this. Winning the World Cup is the proudest moment of my life. Thanks to my team-mates. Without them, nothing would have happened. I couldn’t control my tears of joy.”
