Sachin Tendulkar Gave An Emotional Tribute To Spin Legend Shane Warne

Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar paid an emotional tribute to his long-time rival and friend Shane Warne after the legendary Australian cricketer died in a suspected heart attack. Warne was the second highest wicket taker in the history of Test cricket only behind Muttiah Muralitharan, with 708 scalps to his name.

The news of his demise was confirmed by Warne’s management company in a brief statement released on Friday. The statement read:

Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived,” The statement added: “The family requests privacy at this time and will provide further details in due course.”

The cricket fraternity across the globe was left shocked by the sudden demise of Australian, who was 52 years of age at the time of his death and was in Thailand when he breathed his last. Cricketers, fans, and experts around the world hailed the legacy of the Australian cricketer.

Sachin Tendulkar, who has involved in some epic duel with Shane Warne during their playing days and remained friends outside the field. On Friday, Sachin took to Twitter and hailed the legacy of the Australian legend and said that Warne had “gone too young.” He wrote:

Shocked, stunned & miserable… Will miss you Warnie. There was never a dull moment with you around, on or off the field. Will always treasure our on field duels & off field banter. You always had a special place for India & Indians had a special place for you. Gone too young!”
