Regarded as the God Of Cricket, Sachin Tendulkar on September 2 left his fans stumped as he joined the viral one-word tweet trend on Twitter on Friday. This fervidly growing trend has taken the internet by storm over the last couple of days, and it has caught the legendary Indian batsman as well.

Taking to Twitter on Friday morning, Sachin Tendulkar wrote “cricket” and the fans started pouring tributes for the iconic cricket under his comment section.

Here is Sachin Tendulkar’s tweet:

Earlier in the day, the world cricket’s governing body, International Cricket Council (ICC), also posted the same tweet taking part in this viral trend that’s spreading like a wildfire among the fans around the world.

Dinesh Karthik and his wife also take part in this trend

Senior Indian cricket Dinesh Karthik and his wife Dipika Pallikal, who is an Indian squash player, also got everyone excited and intrigued by participating in this crazy vogue.

On Friday, both Dinesh Karthik, who is currently in Dubai with Team India, and his doting wife Dipika Pallikal took to Twitter at the same time – 3.29 PM IST – to tweet each other’s names. Nothing else, but they just tweeted each other’s names: “Dinesh” and “Dipika”

It seems like this mania began with the American train service provider, Amtrak. Amtrak’s one-word tweet saying ‘Trains’ went viral all over the internet and has gathered more than 150,000 likes. Seeing the viral post, many big organisations and personalities across the world joined in.

United States of America President Joe Biden wrote ‘Democracy’ while NASA said ‘Universe.’ WWE and Starbucks joined in by writing ‘Wrestling’ and Coffee’ respectively. Google maps chimed in too and wrote ‘Maps.’ American news media houses Bloomberg, Washington Post, and CNN also took part by saying ‘Business’, ‘News’, and ‘Breaking News’ respectively.

Sachin Tendulkar to lead India Legends

Coming back to Sachin Tendulkar, the 49-year-old former India opener is set to lead the India Legends team in the upcoming season of the Road Safety World Series.

Tendulkar has been confirmed as the captain of the Indian Legends team for the tournament that is slated to begin on September 10 and will run till October 1 in the cities of Kanpur, Raipur, Indore, and Dehradun.

New Zealand Legends are the new addition to this league, and they will join the legends of India, Australia, Sri Lanka, West Indies, South Africa, Bangladesh and England. This competition is played to create awareness towards road safety in the country and around the globe.
