It’s been a year since the death of Ramakant Achrekar, the childhood coach of the legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar.  On his death anniversary today, Sachin Tendulkar came up with an emotional tweet for his coach.

Sachin Tendulkar took to his Twitter and paid tribute to his late coach Ramakant Achrekar with an emotional tweet. In his tweet, Sachin Tendulkar shared a picture of himself with his coach, Ramakant Achrekar.

“तुमच्या आठवणी आमच्या मनात सदैव राहतील, आचरेकर सर.

You will continue to remain in our hearts, Achrekar Sir!”

Sachin Tendulkar turned out to be the brightest talent that Achrekar coached. But besides Sachin Tendulkar, there are many cricketers that the latter touched with his brilliance, including Vinod Kambli, Pravin Amre, Ajit Agarkar and Ramesh Powar.

Besides Sachin Tendulkar, former Indian cricketer, Vinod Kambli also took to his Twitter and paid tribute to the legendary coach. He also shared a picture of himself and his family with late Ramakant Achrekar. He wrote:

“No Mentor can ever be as incredible as you are because you did not only teach me to play cricket in the best way possible but you also taught me real life lessons. I miss you a lot, Achrekar Sir!”

Last year, on Achrekar’s demise, Tendulkar gave a heartfelt tribute to his coach and wrote:

“Cricket in heaven will be enriched with the presence of Achrekar sir. Like many of his students, I learnt my ABCD of cricket under Sir’s guidance. His contribution to my life cannot be captured in words. He built the foundation that I stand on. Achrekar sir taught us the virtues of playing straight and living straight. Thank you for making us a part of your life and enriching us with your coaching manual. Well played Sir and may you coach more wherever you are.”
