Sachin Tendulkar Trolled Lasith Malinga Like A Boss On Twitter

With cricket fans around the world waiting impatiently for the live international cricket to begin post the COVID-19 forced halt, India’s legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar took a cheeky dig at Sri Lanka’s pacer Lasith Malinga.

Lasith Malinga, the Sri Lankan great is regarded as one of the greatest fast bowlers of all time in limited-overs cricket. The way Malinga releases the ball is one of the most distinctive bowling actions in the world. He is also known for kissing the ball often at the start of his run-up.

The same act was pointed out by Sachin Tendulkar in his latest tweet, where he took a hilarious dig at Lasith Malinga and also shared a picture of Malinga kissing the ball. Tagging Malinga in his tweet, Sachin wrote:

A certain someone will have to also change his run up routine with the new @icc rules! What say Mali?”

Here, check out the tweet of Sachin Tendulkar:

Well, for the unversed, ICC has changed many rules including that saliva cannot be used to shine the ball as it is known to carry the virus. While players can’t use any artificial substance as a substitute to clean the ball, they can use their own sweat to do the job. Talking about the consequences, ICC had stated:

“A team can be issued up to two warnings per innings but repeated use of saliva on the ball will result in a 5-run penalty to the batting side. Whenever saliva is applied to the ball, the umpires will be instructed to clean the ball before play recommences,”

However, how effective this method will be seen when the England cricket team will lock its horns with the West Indies cricket team in a bilateral test series from 8th July. Cricket fans around the world are waiting impatiently for the live cricket to begin.
