Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar was a big fan of cricket and she shared a deep bond with the legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.
On Sunday morning, the legendary singer, who was hailed as the ‘Nightingale of India’, breathed her last at the age of 92. She was admitted to a hospital in January after testing positive for Coronavirus. She was also diagnosed with pneumonia. Though she showed signs of recovery, however, a few days ago her health deteriorated and doctors shifted her to the ventilator again. She passed away leaving the nation with teary eyes on Sunday.
Condolence messages and tributes have been pouring in from all the corners. Sachin Tendulkar, who shared a special bond with Manjrekar, shared a heartfelt post for ‘Lata Didi’ after the legendary singer’s demise on Sunday. He wrote:
“I consider myself fortunate to have been a part of Lata Didi’s life. She always showered me with her love and blessings. With her passing away, a part of me feels lost too. She’ll always continue to live in our hearts through her music,”

Meanwhile, a video of Sachin Tendulkar and Lata Mangeshkar has been going viral on the internet. The video is from a function that was organized to celebrate Sachin’s 100 International centuries in 2012. During the function, Sachin Tendulkar had asked her to sing a song suggested by him.
In the video, Sachin can be seen speaking in Marathi: “I have given you the status of mother and I am like your son. So I request you to sing the song Tu Jahan Jahan Chaelga.” Lata Ji replied to him, “I am too excited so I am not sure if I will be able to sing properly,” and went on to sing the song, leaving everyone mesmerized.
