Saiyami Kher Raised A Very Interesting Point On India Cricket Team’s Schedule

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday (December 8) announced the schedule for the upcoming home series against Sri Lanka, Australia, and New Zealand. After the conclusion of the ongoing away series against Bangladesh, the Indian cricket team will take part in three back-to-back home assignments and will host the likes of Sri Lanka, New Zealand, and Australia.

All the upcoming series will take place in 2023 with a all eyes on the World Test Championship (WTC) qualification and the ODI World Cup in India. The Indian side is having a very hectic schedule before the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season which will be followed by the WTC final, were India could be part of if they are able to qualify.

Meanwhile, ever since the BCCI has announced the complete schedule of the Indian cricket team for the upcoming series, social media has been buzzing with reactions from the fans to it. Several experts and fans have called out BCCI for the hectic schedule of the Men in Blue. Among many, popular Bollywood actress Saiyami Kher, who is a cricket enthusiast, also took to her social media and posted a hard-hitting reality about the game. 

In her Tweet, Saiyami wrote how a lot of cricket has killed all the excitement among the fans. She wrote: “I didn’t think I would ever say this. But the Indian team is just playing way too  much cricket. It’s killing the excitement. We barely finished the WC & the NZ series started now the Ban series than SL, NZ, AUS, IPL! I miss the days when we actually looked forward to a series!”

Before the ODI series against Bangladesh kickstarted, Indian captain Rohit Sharma was asked to comment about India’s hectic schedule. Talking about which, Rohit had said:

“As professionals, we have to keep up with intensity. We manage players, we give them rest to manage the workload, keeping the bigger picture in mind. There is going to be a lot of cricket always, you have to manage. Not possible in this day and age to play your best 15.”
