Gautam Gambhir has sparked a big controversy on Twitter by commenting on MS Dhoni’s iconic ‘six’ picture on the anniversary of India’s ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 win. Gautam Gambhir is known for not mincing his words and he is someone who doesn’t care too much about the controversy and says things without adding filters.
Today, Gambhir took a screenshot of a tweet shared by ESPNcricinfo.com and wrote:

Gambhir, in his trademark style, told the website that they need to stop obsessing over just one part of that match and talk about the other contributions, too. Gambhir also batted brilliantly in that match and many believe his performance played a massive part in the outcome of the match.
But, the moment Gautam Gambhir posted this tweet, an army of MS Dhoni fans and a section of Indian cricket fans flooded his mentions. As always, there were two sides–one in Gambhir’s favor and the other against his views. His tweet got thousands of replies in no time and fans started arguing among themselves. It, suddenly, became the hottest topic of discussion on Twitter.
However, the best reply came from the Editor in Chief of ESPNcricinfo.com, Mr. Sambit Bal. He wrote that a cricket match is rarely won by one man but there are some moments/images that become iconic. And, MS Dhoni’s World Cup-winning six is one of those iconic moments.
