Sanjay Manjrekar Trolled Rishabh Pant For Missing An Easy Stumping

Sanjay Manjrekar Trolled Rishabh Pant: Time and again, Rishabh Pant has impressed one and all with his batting performances, however, it won’t be wrong to say that he is far from being a finished product as a wicket-keeper. Lately, he has faced plenty of flak for his mistakes behind the stumps.

On Day 1 of the ongoing 1st test match against England at Chepauk, Chennai, the Indian keeper dropped England opening batsman Rory Burns down the leg. It was the first delivery of Jasprit Bumrah’s over and India lost an early opportunity to get rid of Rory Burns.

The incident took place as early as the seventh ball of the game when England openers had just scored one run on the scoreboard. Jasprit started the day with a length delivery and Burns couldn’t read the ball properly. And as a result, the ball touched the bat and went right towards the wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant, who dived to his right to complete the catch however, the ball came really low and hit his fingertips.

Now on day 2, another incident took place after Rishabh missed the easiest chance of dismissing Jack Leach off the bowling of R Ashwin. It happened when England was at 572/9 and Ashwin tricked the batsman Leach with his guile, which forced the batsman to come down the wicket. Leach was almost a foot outside his crease and that was a golden opportunity to dismiss him, however, Pant failed to collect the ball, leaving Ashwin in total disarray.

Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer and commentator Sanjay Manjrekar took to his social media and shared his thoughts about Rishabh – the wicketkeeper. In his tweet, he wrote that the way he missed that stumping tells everything about the Indian keeper. He wrote:

“Everyone misses stumping. Even great keepers do but the way Pant missed that stumping of Leach off Ashwin tells me all I need to know about Pant the keeper.”
