The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) left everyone surprised as the board sacked Sarfaraz Ahmed from captaincy from all the formats of the game. The sacking must have come as a big blow for Sarfaraz as exactly one year is left for the T20 World Cup 2020.

Babar Azam, who is one of the talented batsmen of Pakistan cricket team will now take over the role in the shortest formats, while on the other hand, veteran batsmen Azhar Ali will take over the captaincy of red-ball cricket.

If reports are to be believed, Sarfaraz Ahmed might lose his place in the squad for the upcoming tour of Australia. He is now under the scanner after they suffered a humiliating whitewash in three T20i match series.

Sarfaraz losing his captaincy and then place in the squad can affect his career, however, according to his wife Sarfaraz will make a strong comeback and is in no mood of retirement. Talking to Deccan Chronicles, Sarfaraz’s wife said:

“We knew this (sacking) three days ago. It is not the end of the road for him. He will be able to play burden-free now.”

Sarfaraz’s wife also went on to compare him with the legendary captain MS Dhoni. She said:

“Why should he retire now? He is only 32. How old is Dhoni? Has he retired at his current age? My husband will make a strong come back. He is a fighter and will come back.”

Talking about Pakistan’s upcoming tour to Australia, it kicks off on November 3. They play three T20Is and two Tests on a month-long tour.
