Scott Styris Took A Dig At India For Playing Prithvi Shaw Over Shubman Gill

Scott Styris Took A Dig At India For Playing Prithvi Shaw Over Shubman Gill: Team India left everyone surprised ahead of the ongoing first day-night test match at Adelaide as they decided to play Prithvi Shaw in the playing eleven over Shubman Gill. For the unversed, Shubman Gill was widely backed to make his debut in the ongoing first day-night Test match at Adelaide ahead of Prithvi Shaw.

Not just the fans but many experts and former cricketers including the likes of Sunil Gavaskar and Allan Border, the two legends after who the ongoing series is named, had also backed Shubman Gill to play ahead of the out-of-form Prithvi Shaw.

During the two warm-up games against Australia A, while Shaw continued with his poor form, Shubman Gill outscored him. Gill’s amazing performances made him the frontrunner to partner Mayank Agarwal as India’s opener for the first test. Following the performance of both the cricketers in warm-up games,  Gavaskar had said:

“I think Shubman Gill should open with Mayank for the first Test match because he’s shown good form. Allan Border was there for the games [practice games], [and] was very impressed with what he saw from Shubman Gill. So I would imagine that he should open with Mayank Agarwal for the first Test,”

Prithvi Shaw once again left his fans disappointed after he failed to perform in the ongoing first day-night match against Australia. He was dismissed on the second ball for a duck off a Mitchell Starc’s delivery.
