In very little time and at a very young age Hardik Pandya has earned himself some great accolades in international cricket and a permanent place in the playing XI across formats. But he has become the center point of criticism for his irresponsible batting in the ongoing test series in South Africa.

After a brave knock of 93 in the first innings, Hardik Pandya’s performance only went down subsequently. What has made the cricket fraternity question his place in the test team is the irresponsible attitude with which he’s been throwing his wicket.

He’s got himself a very lazy run out this series and then has gone for irresponsible shots to see himself walking back to the pavilion. This attitude has put him under scrutiny and people have started to question his long-term presence in test cricket for India.

Sehwag Makes A Massive Statement On Hardik Pandya’s Future In Test Cricket

Sehwag Comes Out In Pandya’s Support

While others have been slamming him for throwing his wicket, Virender Sehwag, the former explosive opener has come out in support of Hardik Pandya and his future in test cricket. Pandya’s batting style is very reminiscent of the one Sehwag had and that’s the reason why Sehwag is in full support of the 24-year-old all rounder.

Here’s What Sehwag Said

“Definitely I think Hardik Pandya is a long-term prospect for India in any format and not just overseas. He is immensely talented with the bat but he needs to be consistent as an all-rounder as well. If it doesn’t happen it will be a big disappointment.”

The former Swashbuckling opener further added that Hardik Pandya’s career has just started and it will take a few years for him to become an all-rounder as good as Kapil Dev.
