India’s young destructive opener Shafali Verma has become the talk of the town because of her fearless performances in the ongoing ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia. The 16-year-old Shafali Verma smashed six-sixes off Bangladeshi bowlers and made everyone sit on the edge of their seats throughout her performance.

Playing at the strike-rate of 229, the young bats-woman showed glimpses of former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag, who is also known for his fearless performances that used to give nightmares to the opposition. In fact, Shafali got out in a similar fashion to that of Virender Sehwag.
Shafali Verma not just give momentum to team India but also laid a platform for her team to score big on the scoreboard that read 53 for just 2 in 5.3 overs when she left.
Recently, in an interview, Shafali Verma revealed what boosted her confidence. In an interview, Shafali revealed that it was her meeting the legendary Sachin Tendulkar that boosted her confidence. She said:
“I was happy to meet Sachin Sir. It was my dream to meet him and I was excited to meet him. I felt excited. My meeting with him boosted my confidence immensely. I told him he is my idol and I respect him a lot. Meeting him was my dream and it was fulfilled. I could not share a lot of time with Sachin Sir but pray I can meet him again for longer time. His advice and guidance will further help me and I hope I can play well like him for India and we win the World Cup.”
