VIDEO: Shahid Afridi Checks In On Gautam Gambhir During An LLCT20 Match

The rivalry between former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir and former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi is known to all. Both the legends renewed their age-old rivalry when they locked horns during the opening match of the Legends League Cricket.

Both the cricketers have had many heated moments during their playing days, however, what happened yesterday during the game has taken everyone by surprise.

During the game, Afridi walked up to Gambhir and asked if he was okay after the former India batter was hit on the helmet grill by the ball.

The incident took place in the 12th over of the Maharajas’ innings when Gambhir was trying to work a ball by Abdul Razzaq on the leg-side but he missed it completely. The ball backfired off the batter’s elbow and hit on his helmet grill.

Afridi then walked up to Gambhir and inquired if he was alright, responding to which Gambhir nodded his head yes.

The video of the same has been going viral on the internet and has been making rounds on the internet.  Watch the video:

Talking about the game, the Maharajas lost the game by nine runs. Coming out to bat first after winning the toss, Lions put up a total of 165/6 in 20 overs, thanks to Upul Tharanga’s knock of 39-ball 40 runs and Misbah-ul-Haq’s 50-ball 73.

Stuart Binny and Parwinder Awana picked two wickets each for India Maharajas.

Later, during the chase, the Maharajas coped with an early blow as they lost Robin Uthappa in the first over itself. Captain Gautam Gambhir then joined forces with Murali Vijay as the duo added 50 runs for the 2nd wicket before the latter went back to the pavilion. Gambhir continued with the bat while wickets kept falling around him and scored his 50 before getting out in the 14th over of the chase.

The Maharajas could only manage 156/8 in their 20 overs. For the Lions, Sohail Tanvir picked three wickets.
