Shahid Afridi Is Getting Trolled For Insulting Gautam Gambhir On Live TV

Shahid Afridi Is Getting Trolled For Insulting Gautam Gambhir On Live TV: Unlike before, there is a lot of camaraderie and mutual respect among the players of India and Pakistan whenever they meet on a cricket field nowadays.

On Sunday, when both the sides met in the Group A game of the Asia Cup where the Indian side clinched a close five-wicket win over the Babar Azam-led Pakistan cricket team. Throughout the game, both the players stole hearts with their friendliness.

On one occasion during the match, India’s star all-rounder Hardik Pandya even put a hand on Pakistan wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan’s shoulder, taking him by surprise before the duo eventually burst into laughter.

However, it hasn’t always been like this. There have been times in the past when the temper flared between the players of both countries and one of the most talked-about fights took place between Gautam Gambhir and Shahid Afridi.

Both the cricketers clashed on the field during an ODI game in 2007 in Kanpur. This fight still remains ongoing, even after all these years. Time and again, both the cricketers have often clashed on social media fighting over issues related to cricket and politics.

On Sunday, the former Pakistan captain took another dig at the former Indian player during a conversation on Aaj Tak as part of the expert panel in Pakistan’s TV channel Samaa TV. Taking a shot at Gambhir, the Pakistani cricketer said:

“It’s not like I have had a fight with any of the Indian players. Yes, sometimes there are some arguments with Gautam Gambhir on social media. And I think that Gautam is a sort of character which no one likes even in the Indian team,”

While this prompted a burst of laughter from the hosts as well as Harbhajan Singh, the statement didn’t go down well among a number of Indian fans, who are now trolling Shahid Afridi and Harbhajan Singh both. Fans are slamming the Pakistani cricketer for making insulting remarks for our World Cup hero.

Check out the reactions of fans to this:

How can @harbhajan_singh laugh on it .Man you have played so much with that guy atleast you should not have laughed on it.#INDvPAK #disappointing https://t.co/LUQa3eg7IO

Gauti captained the Indian team in six ODIs from late 2010 to late 2011 with India winning all six matches. He played an integral part in India’s wins in the finals of both the 2007 World Twenty20 (75 runs from 54 balls) and the 2011 Cricket World Cup (97 from 122).
