Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor has found himself under the receiving end of criticism after he shared an Instagram post to congratulate the Indian under-19 cricket team after they won the U-19 World Cup title on February 4.
India’s under-19 cricket team won a record-extending fifth U-19 World Cup title by defeating England by four wickets at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua and made the whole country. Having won titles in 2000, 2008, 2012, and 2018 previously, India is the most successful team at U19 World Cups.
The Chandigarh-based cricketer Raj Bawa impressed everyone with his all-round performances as he stole the show with a performance with both bat and the ball. After picking a fifer in the first innings, Raj Bawa scored a stunning match-winning 35 runs.
Ever since the stunning victory, the Indian squad has been receiving wishes from all corners of India and across the world for their terrific performances in the tournament as they won all the games they played in the tournament.
Several cricketers, experts, and prominent people around the country took to social media to congratulate the under-19 cricket team of India. Among many, Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor also took to his social media and shared an Instagram story, congratulating team India. However, he made a big mistake while wishing the Boys in Blue on social media.
Well, while congratulating the Indian team on a fifth U19 World Cup win, the Bollywood actor ended up sharing an image of the 2018 batch that included the likes of Shubman Gill, Shivam Mavi, Prithvi Shaw, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, etc. Though, Shahid Kapoor deleted the story later on, but the netizens were quick to notice the blunder, and in no time, the screenshots of the same have been making rounds on the internet.
