Shane Watson Names His Top 5 T20 Players: Batting maestro Virat Kohli, current Indian captain Rohit Sharma, and bowling sensation Jasprit Bumrah are arguably three of the biggest Indian players. However, none of them entered the top 5 T20I players list of Australian legend Shane Watson’s list.
Shane Watson Included SKY In His Elite List

Only one Indian player has managed to make it to the top-5 list of T20I players of Shane Watson and he is none other than India’s talented middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav. Yes, you read that right. Yadav is the only Indian player picked by Shane Watson in his list of top T20 specialists in the world.

On Tuesday, Shane Watson, in his ICC Review heaped praises on Suryakumar Yadav as he feels that the cricketer has done “incredibly well” with his performances for the Men in Blue, with the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2022 just around the corner.
Further, Watson also added that he wouldn`t be astonished if KL Rahul, who led India to a 3-0 ODI series win against Zimbabwe recently, “explodes” at the upcoming edition of the ICC World Cup, which is scheduled to start from November this year. He said:
“Second one (pick) is Suryakumar Yadav,” He added: “He’s batting incredibly well, and he would be my No.2 pick. But I wouldn’t be surprised at all if (India team-mate) KL Rahul explodes in the T20 World Cup in Australia because he’s got the game to dominate in these conditions in Australia.”
Watson Rated Babar Azam As No.1 T20I Player
Talking about the rest of the players in his list, Shane Watson rated Babar Azam on the first position in his list, followed by David Warner at number 3. He said:
“First one I’d pick would be Babar Azam. He`s the No.1 T20I batsman in the world, and he just knows how to dominate. It`s like he’s not even taking any risks, and he scores incredibly quickly against the best bowlers in the world. He’s going to do very well in Australian conditions (during the T20 World Cup) as well, as his technique is very much built for Australian conditions,”
He added: “He (Warner) won the Player of the Tournament in the last men’s T20 World Cup, with the Aussies winning, and has scored some great runs for the Delhi Capitals (in the IPL) as well. He’s going to have plenty of fire in his belly to make his mark in a T20 World Cup at home, so he`s going to be ready to go,”

At the number 4 position, Watson picked Jos Buttler, who is in a stellar form off-lately. Speaking about him he said: “No.4 for me is going to be (England`s) Jos Buttler,” Watson said. “During the IPL, well a lot of times anyway, no one could get him out. Four hundred has only been done once before in an IPL, with Virat Kohli doing that (in 2016). When he’s in form, and he has been in form, he’s just about impossible in T20 cricket to get out. He can hit wherever he wants off the best bowlers in the world.”
