Take A Bow, Ravichandran Ashwin: There were a lot of discussions about the fettle of the surface that was prepped for India versus England in the second Test of the series. The English fans were extremely disapproving of the fact that a turning wicket was given to England to bat. Though it was unsure whether they were unhappy because the English batters aren’t capable of playing spin or was it because spin has been a perennial problem for the visitors.

With everything said and done, like the way Rohit Sharma batted on this difficult surface trading the English bowlers with consummate ease in the first innings must have acted as a lesson for the Englishmen.

To make matters further deplorable for the English team, Ashwin, a bowling all-rounder went on to club a brilliant century in the second innings with apt support from his skipper Virat Kohli and then a fine knock in the end by Mohammad Siraj.

Indian cricket analysts, commentators, and journalists left no stones unturned to hit back at the English folks. After Shane Warne schooled Michael Vaughan repeatedly in the course of five days, Indian journalists religiously mocked the English cricket zealots, underlining their inability to play spin.

The post that blew the English minds away came from Shekhar Gupta, quoting, “This 100 is Ashwin Ravi’sanswer to those like Vaughan maligning his home pitch as a mud pile or asking for India to be docked WTC points for making a lousy wicket. If a number 8 can bat 135 balls & score a hundred, it’s about batting and bowling skills, not the pitch.”

Virender Sehwag’s tweet on Ashwin made it excruciatingly haunting for the visitors as he tweeted a reference from the latest installment of the Thor movie series. This went viral on the internet.

They – Pitch is naat good for batting, nno way can bat on thees.
