Shoaib Akhtar Blamed This Indian Player For India’s Defeat In First Test: The Indian cricket team suffered a horrible defeat in the first day-night test match after they were sent to all cleaners by the Australian bowlers in the second innings on Day3. Winning the toss, the Indian skipper opted to bat first and managed to put up a total score of 244 runs on the scoreboard, riding on the back of an incredible knock of 74 runs by Virat Kohli.

Virat was in terrific form, however, a terrible mix-up with Ajinkya Rahane resulted in Kohli’s dismissal. It happened during the 77th over, Ajinkya Rahane hit the ball straight to the mid-off fielder Jaze Hazlewood and called the skipper for a single. Virat went for a full sprint without even looking back. But just then Rahane asked Kohli to go back and Kohli had no other option but to sacrifice his own wicket at 74 runs.

Huge blow

After Virat’s dismissal, team India had gone from 188 for 3 to 244 all-out. However, Team India bounced back as the bowling unit weaved magic on the field as Australia were all out on 191/10 by the end of Day 2.

Team India managed to take a lead of 53 runs, however, a horrible collapse happened on Day 3 and the Indian batting line-up were bundled-up at 36/9, their lowest Test innings total. The Indian cricket team lost the game by 8 wickets as Australia easily chased down the target of 90 runs.

After the match, former Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar analyzed the match and explained where the men in blue lost the game.

In his latest video on YouTube, Shoaib Akhtar claimed that Ajinkya Rahane was the main reason behind India’s defeat as he ‘killed’ Virat Kohli by getting him run-out. He said:

“The way in which Ajinkya Rahane ran out Virat Kohli; he literally killed Virat Kohli. If Kohli would have gone on to make 150 or 200 and the lead would have been better, India would have had a chance of making a comeback.”

He added:

“India survived similar bowling in the first innings. So I don’t know why they had a different approach in the second innings. India just surrendered in front of Cummins and Hazlewood. I think it is really embarrassing and a very sad start to their Test series. India will remember this defeat for years to come,”
