Shoaib Akhtar Gives A Bogus Warning To New Zealand Ahead Of The T20 World Cup

Pakistan’s legendary cricketer Shoaib Akhtar came down hard on the decision of the New Zealand Cricket team to abandon their limited-overs tour against Pakistan. The visitors called off the series in Pakistan abruptly without a ball being bowled, just before the first ODI in Rawalpindi over after a “government security alert”.

Several cricketers ranging from Shaheen Afridi to Shan Masood, to Mohammad Hafeez, have come out in support of the Pakistan Cricket Board. The decision of the New Zealand team has also left Pakistan former pacer Shoaib Akhtar fuming.

Recently, he took to Twitter and shared a picture that showed a fixture of the 2021 T20 World Cup match between Pakistan and New Zealand, which is slated to take place on 26th October 2021. Akhtar tweeted that this is the place where Pakistani cricketers should respond to the New Zealand players with their full might. Sharing the picture of the fixture, Akhtar wrote:

“Remember the date guys. This is where you respond to them with full strength,”

Earlier, he took to his Twitter and reacted to NZC’s decision to pull out of the series. He wrote: “NZ just killed Pakistan cricket,”

Not just this, Akhtar went on to add: “Following points for New Zealand to remember: 9 Pakistanis were killed in the Christchurch attack. Pakistan stood strong with New Zealand. Pakistan toured New Zealand in the worst of Covid circumstances regardless of the crude treatment by NZ authorities on that tour.”

He added:

This was just an unverified threat, it could have been discussed. Prime Minister Imran Khan personally spoke to his NZ counterpart and assured but it was still refused. Pakistan has safely hosted South Africa, Bangladesh, West Indies, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe & PSL.”
