Shoaib Akhtar is one of the best fast bowlers in cricket’s history. During his place, the Rawalpindi Express was a nightmare for batsmen around the world and he troubled some of the best batters of his generation with his fast bowling and the incredible skill of moving the ball both ways at pace.

Shoaib Akhtar has retired from cricket but his analysis and commentary style is just like his bowling-fast and aggressive. Recently, Akhtar posted a video on his Youtube channel in which he praised the Indian captain Virat Kohli and compared his style to that of former Pakistan captain Imran Khan.

Shoaib Akhtar praised Virat Kohli’s dedication towards fitness and said that just like former Pakistan captain Imran Khan, Kohli is a role model for the whole team.

“Virat Kohli is a fitness freak and every Indian cricketer looks up to him for inspiration. If the captain is agile and sets such standards, the side will obviously follow. I believe this thing used to be there in our team when Imran Khan was the captain. He came to the ground, did not listen to anyone, used to run ten laps around, take 20-25 sprints. He then bowled in the nets for three hours. It was compulsory for the rest of the players to come and do the same,”. Shoaib Akhtar said.

Akhtar also said that Virat Kohli plays the game with a lot of intensity and other Indian players also follow their captain.

“Imran Khan was not a tactical captain, but he knew how to gather match-winners. Now India is doing the same, see Kohli’s attitude, he plays with a lot of intensity, the players follow the captain. India has strict rules to ensure players’ conduct both on and off the field,” Shoaib Akhtar said in a video of his YouTube Channel.
