Shoaib Akhtar Reacts To Viral Image Of Pak Fan Holding Kohli’s Poster: Virat Kohli has become a role model for millions following the game. Although he is going through a century rut and is no more the captain in any format, the 33-year-old remains a key player for the Indian side.

Kohli has a huge fan following outside India as well for the right-hander is one of the best batsmen to have played the game. Kohli has time and again been praised by fans and experts across the border, with several Pakistani cricketers admiring his batsmanship.

Recently, one fan was captured holding a Virat Kohli poster that said: “I want to see your century in Pakistan,” during a Pakistan Super League  2022 game at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar tweeted this picture. “Someone spreading love at the #GaddafiStadium,” captioned Shoaib Akhtar.

Due to the political tensions between the two countries, India and Pakistan have not competed in a bilateral series since 2012/13, when India hosted Pakistan for white-ball matches. India lasted toured Pakistan in 2005/06.

International cricket had been halted in Pakistan since 2009 when the Sri Lankan cricket members were attacked by terrorists on their way to the Gaddafi Stadium in the team bus. Slowly, over the past few years, players have played in the PSL in Pakistan and some of the top teams have toured the country.

Ramiz Raja, the PCB chairman, confirmed last October that the 2023 Asia Cup will be held in Pakistan, as finalized in the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting, which was chaired by Jay Shah, BCCI secretary.

Meanwhile, speaking of Virat Kohli, the former Indian captain is currently on a break from the bio-bubble life; he was rested from the third T20I against West Indies and the upcoming 3-T20I series against Sri Lanka.

Kohli will return for the 2-Test series against Sri Lanka; the first Test in Mohali will be his 100th Test. He will, however, not have two senior batters, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane, alongside him to celebrate this, nor his childhood friend Ishant Sharma, as they all have been dropped from the Test squad.
