“If you ever feel useless, remember Pakistan has fielding coach.” wrote one X user while taking a dig at the Pakistani players for their miserable fielding in the ongoing World Cup 2023. Former Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar also slammed the Pakistani team for their sloppy fielding.

Well, the Men in Green are infamous for their poor fielding and they were at it once again as they took on Australia in the ongoing World Cup 2023 game at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Babar Azam won the toss and elected to bowl first. Hoever, the decision turned into a nightmare for the team thanks to the Australian openers David Warner and Mitchell Marsh, who formed a stunning 259-run opening stand.

The Men in Green could have protected themselves from this havoc if they wouldn’t have dropped a dolly. Yes, Pakistan team could have gotten an early breakthrough in the fifth over after Warner top-edged a short-pitched ball by Shaheen Afridi. But Usama Mir put down a simple catch at mid-on, giving a lifeline to Warner.

Not just this, Warner got another lifeline as he was dropped again by Abdullah Shafique at deep mid-wicket off Usama Mir’s bowling in the 33rd over.

As a result, David Warner punished the Pakistan bowlers throughout his innings and was eventually dismissed after playing a sensational knock of 163 runs off 124 balls. His powerful knock was laced with 14 fours and 9 sixes.

“As it is, you’re not able to create opportunities. Atleast grab the ones which batters are giving. Come on guys, you cant drop so many catches!!!!!!”
