Ever since Pakistan cricket team exited the World Cup 2019 campaign, skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed has been receiving a lot of criticism for his captaincy. As the team failed to leave a mark with their performance, fans and cricket pundits slammed Sarfaraz Ahmed for his poor captaincy.

Recently, Former Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar slammed skipper Sarfaraz and said that Sarfaraz should be removed from the position of captain of Pakistan’s cricket team, from all the formats.

He said Sarfaraz should be kept in the team only because of his wicket-keeping and batting. In a video, uploaded by him on Youtube channel, he said:

“He (Sarfaraz) should be used for his wicket-keeping and batting skills,” He added: “No way should he continue as captain of the team. He should not be the captain in any format.”

In the video, Shoaib Akhtar even went on to reveal his pick for the new captain of the team. According to him, Haris Sohail should lead Pakistan in ODIs and T20Is, whereas Babar Azam should be handed over the captaincy in Test cricket. He said:

“Haris Sohail should be made the captain. He should captain the side in ODIs and T20Is. They should test him (Babar Azam) in Test cricket. I wish him the best. He has scored a lot of runs.”

This isn’t the first time Shoaib Akhtar has lashed out on Sarfaraz Ahmed. After Pakistan’s exit from the World Cup, Shoaib Akhtar had slammed the skipper and even called him a “brainless captain”.
