England’s fast bowler James Anderson, who made his Test debut in 2003 against Zimbabwe, has added another feather to his glorious cap.  During the fifth day of the third and final Test match between England and Pakistan, James Anderson, England’s first fast bowler became the first fast bowler to take 600 Test wickets when he dismissed Pakistan’s skipper Azhar Ali.
In Pakistan’s first innings, James Anderson took a five-wicket haul in Pakistan’s first innings. Later, in the second innings, Anderson returned to pick Abid Ali and Azhar.
James Anderson is just the 4th player with 600 Test scalps. Before James Anderson, only Muttiah Muralitharan, Shane Warne, and Anil Kumble had broken the 600-wicket barrier in the longest format of the game.

Meanwhile, it was in the year 2018, when James had become the highest wicket-taker among seamers after he dismissed Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami against India at The Oval to go past the tally of Glenn McGrath, which was 896 Test wickets.
Soon after James Anderson achieved the feat on Tuesday, social media was flooded with tweets and posts appreciating the cricketer for his amazing performance. From fans to cricketers around the world, everyone took to their social media and lauded the cricketer for his brilliant performance.
Pakistan’s legendary cricketer Shoaib Akhtar also took to his micro-blogging site and joined the bandwagon. However, Shoaib Akhtar came up with a hilarious tweet, where he trolled James Anderson while congratulating him. He wrote:
“Incredible 600 by @jimmy9. What an amazing achievement. Playing 156 Test Matches for a medium fast bowler is no less achievement. Cheers mate. #JamesAnderson #600TestWickets #England”
