“Rohit Sharma gives a lot of freedom to players, he tells the coaches as well to let the players make their own decisions on the field and the player should be the best judge and that is his best quality as a player & captain,” Gill said on Tuesday on Jio Cinema.
AB de Villiers predicts Shubman Gill to be the top run scorer in World Cup 2023
Gill got huge praise from South African batting legend AB de Villiers. Seeing Gill’s technique, temperament, batting methods, and his surreal form, de Villiers has now predicted that Gill will be the top run-scorer in the upcoming World Cup 2023.
“Shubman Gill is much more traditional, very straight forward technique. He doesn’t try a lot of different things. He does have a lot of strength where he can change the gears and put a lot of pressure on the bowlers,” de Villiers said.
“He is still young, which is incredible because he looks like an experienced campaigner already. We are going to hear a lot about him in the future and in this World Cup as I think he is going to be the top run scorer.”
In ODIs in 2023, Gill is the leading ODI run-scorer with 1230 runs at an average of 72 in only 20 innings with 5 centuries and 5 fifties.
