During the first session of the ongoing 5th Test match, Shubman Gill, known for his fielding skills, made a remarkable running catch to dismiss Ben Duckett. Gill sprinted back from the extra cover position and ran past the 30-yard circle to take an impressive catch. This ended the 64-run partnership between Duckett and Zak Crawley for England’s opening wicket.
Shubman Gill Took An Incredible Running Catch

In the 18th over’s final delivery, India’s spinner Kuldeep Yadav bowled a ball wide of Duckett’s off stump. Duckett, a left-handed batsman, attempted to hit the ball hard towards the leg side instead of playing with the spin.
Duckett couldn’t reach the ball properly and didn’t hit it as he wanted. Instead, it hit the toe-end of his bat and flew high in the air towards the off side. Gill quickly understood he had a chance and ran fast to catch it, covering about 20 yards in the process.

A victory in the Dharamsala Test is vital for Team India to maintain their lead on the World Test Championship (WTC 2023-25) points table. Currently, India holds the top position with a Points Percentage System (PCT) of 64.58. Winning at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium is crucial for India to retain their top spot.
If India wins, the outcome of the 2nd Test between Australia and New Zealand won’t affect the points table, as India will stay at No. 1.
