VIDEO: Shubman Gill Spotted Dancing At Forward Short-Leg On Day 1 Of The First Test

Shubman Gill Spotted Dancing At Forward Short-Leg On Day 1 Of The First Test: On the inaugural day of the first Test match between India and West Indies, Team India commanded the field. The Indian team confidently dismissed the West Indies for a meager 150 runs. Moreover, the men in blue closed the day on a strong note, remaining unscathed with a score of 80.

Ravichandran Ashwin, a seasoned player, distinguished himself as the leading bowler of the day. It was his 33rd five-wicket haul in Test cricket that placed him under the spotlight. Besides Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja too played a significant role, claiming three victims.

The West Indies batsmen met their match in the formidable spin duo of Ashwin and Jadeja. These seasoned spinners left the opposition struggling, thereby contributing to the day’s powerful performance. Debutant Yashasvi Jaiswal, stepping in as an opener, also proved his worth, remaining undefeated with a steady 40 runs off 73 balls.

Jaiswal, replacing Shubman Gill as an opener, exhibited a promising start to his Test career. Gill, having been reassigned to the number three position, seemed comfortable with this shift. The decision was born out of Gill’s own suggestion to the team’s coach, Rahul Dravid, indicating his preference for the number three spot where he had spent most of his cricket career.

Given India’s commendable display on the first day, a jubilant atmosphere pervaded the team. As the West Indies innings was drawing to a close with just one wicket left, Shubman Gill, positioned at forward short-leg, began to dance in celebration. Virat Kohli and wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan, who stood nearby, joined the impromptu performance, adding to the festive spirit.

Captain Rohit Sharma, while speaking about the day’s events, revealed Shubman Gill’s personal approach to Dravid. According to Sharma, Shubman Gill expressed his comfort and past experience with the number three position, leading to his current placement in the batting lineup. This decision seemed to have paid off, given India’s dominant position at the end of the day.

The joyous mood within the team was evident as they celebrated their commanding performance on the field. Kohli, Kishan, and Gill’s spirited dance became the highlight, marking the day with a dash of entertainment.

The first day of the Test match, thus, belonged to India. The Indian cricket team exhibited strength, unity, and dominance, setting a high bar for the games to follow. With talented players like Ashwin, Jadeja, and Jaiswal in the ranks, and experienced individuals like Sharma and Dravid at the helm, Team India is all set to keep up its thrilling performance. With more days of cricket to come, fans can only wait in eager anticipation for the continuing spectacle.
