Simon Doull Takes A Dig At Virat Kohli’s Hundred-Less Run

India’s Test captain Virat Kohli search for his next hundred ended in yet another failure when he got dismissed for a duck in the first innings of the second Test of ongoing series between India and New Zealand, at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai.

Talking about his long ongoing chase for his hundred, former New Zealand cricketer and well-known commentator Simon Doull said that Virat Kohli knows “excgtkyt when he had scored his last hundred” and he needs another one soon to silence the voices coming from the outside and press box.

Simon Doull Takes A Dig At Virat Kohli’s Hundred-Less Run

“They know how big this is, how big that wicket is. Virat knows how many innings it has been (since his last international century). He says he doesn’t know how many it has been, but he is not being honest either,” Simon Doull said.

Simon Doull also added that Virat Kohli is under pressure and because he has set such high standards for himself, it’s always going to be very difficult to stick it.

“He knows exactly when he had scored his last hundred and he knows that he needs another hundred to silence some of the critics. So he is feeling the pressure as much as anyone. And rightly, he should,” Simon Doull added.

“He sets such high standard. That’s the problem. When you set such high standards, so far above the rest, how do you stick to it? At times you will have a lull and this is one of those lulls,” Simon Doull concluded.

OUR VIEW: We agree with Simon Doull’s statement that Virat Kohli would exactly know when was the last time he scored a hundred, and if he doesn’t then he should know because it’s been very, very long. He is a class act, and one of the best batters ever, but he will have to get this monkey off his back very soon.
