Since 2014 Jasprit Bumrah Has Played More Matches For Mumbai Indians Than Team India

The Indian was handed a big blow when, on Thursday, the news of Indian spearhead fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah being injured again came to light. This ruled Bumrah out of the ongoing series against South Africa and has also put his participation in T20 World Cup under threat; according to a report in PTI, Bumrah has already been ruled out of the tournament in Australia, but the board is waiting for confirmation from the NCA where Bumrah will be rehabilitating for the next three weeks.

Bumrah had earlier missed the Asia Cup 2022 – where India failed to reach the final – due to a back injury. He missed two months of action and had marked his return during the recent Australia series where he played in two T20Is before going down with the back injury again.

“Breaking News: Jasprit Bumrah is out of World T20 with a serious back stress fracture injury. No surgery reqd but out for 4-6 months as per sources. He didn’t travel with team to Trivandrum,” tweeted PTI’s renowned journalist Kushan Sarkar on Thursday afternoon.

Bumrah’s injury couldn’t have come at a worse time. India’s death bowling attack had already been in a concerning state with expensive overs from Bhuvneshwar, Harshal and Arshdeep in the Asia Cup, against Australia and South Africa.

Are Indian players more committed to IPL teams than Team India? Shocking stats about Jasprit Bumrah.

Amid this chaos, fans have now raised plenty of concerns and issues regarding Indian players playing full IPL seasons but being rested and injured when it comes to international matches.

Fans have brought up to notice the availability of Bumrah for Indian team and for his IPL franchise, Mumbai Indians.

In the last 4 IPL seasons, Bumrah has played 59 matches for the Mumbai Indians out of the 60 possible; he was rested for one match when MI had qualified for the playoffs. Since 2016, Bumrah has never missed a single match for MI due to injury, and in 2020 was rested for one game.

For Team India, though, since the start of 2019, Bumrah has featured in only 20 T20Is out of the 73 T20Is India have played in this period. That is- he has played only 27 percent of India’s T20Is since 2019.
