SL vs IND: Watch Suryakumar Yadav Absolutely Destroys His MI Teammate Dilshan Madhushanka With 6,4,4: The Gautam Gambhir era has begun. India are in Sri Lanka to feature in the 3-game T20I series, followed by the 3-game ODI series. Suryakumar Yadav is the new T20I captain of the side after Rohit Sharma retired from the shortest format after winning the T20 World Cup 2024. In the first T20I at Pallekele, Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to field first. India was off to a fast start from their openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and vice-captain Shubman Gill.
Jaiswal scored 40 runs off 21 balls and Gill scored 34 runs off 16 balls. Then the captain and arguably the best T20 batter in the world currently, came to the forefront. He smashed his Mumbai Indians’ team mate Dilshan Madushanka for a flurry of boundaries. In the eighth over of the Indian innings, Yadav took Madushanka to the cleaners. SKY faced him for the first time in the fourth ball of the innings and smashed him for a big six. He then smashed him for a four in the fifth ball followed by another smashing boundary in the final delivery of the over.
Yadav smashed 58 runs off 36 balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes. He had a deadly strike-rate of 223.08. He got out leg before wicket to the delivery of Matheesha Pathirana. It was a fantastic start for Suryakumar Yadav as the new captain of the Indian T20I team.
